Background

Last year during the 2009 Bagger Challenge, I found myself outsmarted by friends and foes who were more efficient with the way they invested their bagging time and energy.

I was very pleasantly surprised last week to find out that Dave and Jess had been plotting behind my back about an early birthday present.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a courier package.  "What the heck could that be?", I ask

Where:  Mount Collins is the third-largest point of land (412 meters) on Bowen Island.  It is located on the north east corner of the island.

A little background before I get into it... 

When I began to formulate a plan to run from Powell River to Vancouver, following a route which has never been completed in its entirety, in an unprecedented length of time, it became clear that gear was going to play a major role.

I was recently approached for a list of the best ultra marathons in Canada.  Ones that are crazy, fun, historic or are otherwise noteworthy.  I thought I pass the question on to you.  What are your favorites?
