Why: Because it's a mystery.
Who: Given that the Tunnel of Love is reputed to be deep in the back country, this run is best suited to very experienced back country runners. By invitation only.

The weather was great and I found myself at on Crown Pass this past Saturday during Des's "Go Home via the Haines Valley" http://www.clubfatass.com/events/gohome/results/2008 run, so opted for a little detour up to Crown with Graham and Ryne to see if we couldn't find the %*(&T(* tunnel.
Good news? Nice day. Great company. Graham got some awesome photos. Found a few small cavities that might be called shallow caves, but no tunnel.
Bad news? Unless more information comes in soon, I will have to write off the tunnel as an urban myth.

I was hoping we would find this sucker this week. But try as I might, I can't find anyone who can tell me if the tunnel even exists.
I've tried to contact the North Shore Search and Rescue. I've made a post on Trail Peak to see if any of our hiking breather'n know of its whereabouts. I've pinged the most knowledgeable back country folks I know. Nada.
The snow will be flying before we know it. I've postponed this run a bit in the hope that I can get confirmation that there is a tunnel. Otherwise, may have to make this a run by the plane crash site on Grouse http://www.clubfatass.com/blog/ean-jackson/grouse-plane-crash and continue on to bag Crown Peak?

Hi Shannon. You can send me an email. I'm still trying to find the exact location of the tunnel of love, so we won't likely do this until late August when the snow is gone.
